Heads Up: Not Looking for Writers, Looking for Interns

taratinopic.jpg Oodles of email applications are pouring in. Applicants are writing things like "It's my dream to write for Kotaku", "I want to write" or "I love writing." Right now, we've got writers coming out the whazoo. We don't need anymore, so we aren't looking for 'em. We want interns — AKA "SLAVES." (Slaves that can write, of course.) As Luke pointed out, we need more "Hey Crecente, I can take as much shit as you give me." From Crecente's original post:

The work is tons of fun and will include a mix of grunt work, some research and maybe even a bit of writing.

Focus on grunt work with possible opportunities for writing. This makes me nostalgic for my days as a intern. I worked for Quentin Tarantino's Rolling Thunder Pictures. Did that for a couple summers while in college. Pretty good internship! On my first day of work, they filmed the opening scene for Jackie Brown. The other days? Not so exciting. They involved lots of answering phones and photocopying scripts, but I had a cool boss and learned a ton. Anyway, carry on and keep those applications a-comin'! Send them to our tips address with the subject line "INTERN."
