Night Note: Good Tax Man, Bad Train Man

RE: Pirates' Cove!
Today, I spent running around, getting ready for my flight tomorrow. Swung by the government tax office to pick up some forms to file. A tax bureaucrat actually apologized to me for the wait. (The wait was only ten minutes!) Service with a smile, too.
Friday was a little crazy. Spent the day in Tokyo. In the morning, I hopped on the bullet train at Shin Osaka station. Those who take the bullet train a lot will know that the outlets for plugs are at the front and the back of each individual car. I always get an unreserved seat, 'cause I never know when exactly I'll be coming back. (Reserved bullet train seats sound like a major commitment.)
So, I got on the train. It was past morning rush hour. I found a row of three seat in the back of the coach. There was a black Louis Vuitton bag in one of the seats, but the other two were open. I sat down. The owner of that bag came back, and I stood up to let him in. A Franck Muller watch wrapped around his wrist. He gave me a super nasty look and clicked his teeth at me. The man must have been sixty or older.
"Is there a problem?" I asked.
He didn't say anything.
"Is this seat open?" I followed.
"Why don't you sit somewhere else?" he sneered.
"Is someone sitting here?" There were three seats.
"No. But you can't sit there. Go sit somewhere else."
"You do realize that this coach is unreserved? You do realize that, right?"
"Yes."
"And that you can't tell people where they can or cannot sit in an unreserved car. You do realize that?"
"Yes, yes. It's an unreserved car. Fine, sit down."
I sat down, and the bullet train pulled away from the station. Five minutes passed when I turned to the man and said, "You know what, there's no way I'll be able to sit next to someone like you all the way to Tokyo. Here, take this seat. Enjoy." I went to another coach and even complained to the train staff, who asked if the old man apologized. "No, he didn't."
