Oh Noes: Nintendo Australia Uncertain Over Big Holiday Games?

wheresmario.jpgGot a Wii? American or Japanese? You're sorted. You've probably finished Super Paper Mario already, are looking forward to Metroid in August and then Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros at Christmas time. Australian users, though, are a little shaky. We still don't have SPM (nor even a vague "holidays" placeholder), and now GameArena's Stephen Farrelly, after sitting down with Nintendo Australia PR man Vispi Bhopti, is reporting we can't even get confirmation that Mario Galaxy, Metroid or Smash Bros will even be released in Australia in 2007.

As far as Wii goes, Super Paper Mario will definitely hit Aussie shelves this year, though no official date has been given, while the other major releases maintain their silence with no word on whether we'll see Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime: Corruption or Super Smash Brothers: Brawl in 2007 in Australia (though I put my money on us seeing at least two of these this holiday season)

Oh wonderful. Hey, Nintendo, just an idea, start taking better care of your Australian (and European since this will most likely apply there as well) divisions. It's June already, if you can't confirm with them that these games will be out this calendar year, people will freak the fuck out. If they aren't already. I know I'm starting to get a little...twitchy.
