Blu-Ray Goodies: Stranglehold Collector’s Edition

Those with a PS3 looking forward to the Stranglehold release will be excited to find the collector's edition will include not only the game, but also a full-length, 1080p version of John Woo's 1992 hit, Hard Boiled on the same disc. The collector's edition will retail at $10 more dollars than the original version at $69.95.

Oddly enough, Marcus at the Daily Tech points out:

(T)he Weinstein Company, the company who owns the rights to Hard Boiled in North America, is an exclusive HD DVD supporter. Stranglehold may be the only place that Hard Boiled will touch in the world of Blu-ray Disc, as the standalone movie-only version of the John Woo classic will logically be an HD DVD exclusive.

Which is weird because HK movies can (and do) usually take any form of playable media in most parts of Asia - pirated PAL cds, mp4s on flash memory sticks, old Betamax tapes, heck, I think I've even seen some still floating around on Laserdisc.
