Totally Worth It: Crackdown DLC Impressions

PREDATOR.jpgOwn Crackdown? Get the DLC. Yes, even the "premium" content, which let it be known is, after twelve months, the first thing I've purchased over Xbox Live. It's worth it. Highlights?

  • The "running really fast" bit in Keys to the City is probably the pick of the lot. Working like Okami's running mechanic, the longer you run, the faster you get, until you're strolling right past moving cars.

  • The harpoon gun comes as advertised. My first 15 minutes with the new toys was spent nailing criminals to every panel of my armoured truck before setting them on fire and driving down the street. Good times.

  • I also really dig the ability in Keys to the City to summon gang hit squads to your location. Lay a dozen or so proximity mines, settle in on a nice, protected balcony then bring the ambush to you.
  • Really, though, almost every aspect of this stuff is great, from the new vehicles to control over the day/night cycle to the ability to empty the streets of everyone and everything. If you feel like parting with 800 points, DO IT. If not, sleep soundly in the knowledge that even the free downloads are better than anything you've paid for thus far on Xbox Live.
