30,000 Australian Wii Pre-Orders? Not So Much
Oh Vispi, must you rain on our parade? Here we were, all full of joy and exuberance over the Wii launch and you have to go spoiling all the fun.
According to Vispi Bhopti, Nintendo Australia's PR man, it turns out there's not 30,000 pre-orders down on the Wii as had previously been speculated. It also turns out some games aren't going to make launch (nice to find out the day before launch, isn't it?), and that, strangely,
Nintendo Australia has received and distributed a "balanced shipment" of peripherals like Wii remotes, Nunchuks and component cables.
Even though we've been told component cables aren't coming until December 14. He also adds that "we should have enough of everything". Should does not mean will.
The inconsistency in information coming out of Nintendo Australia is worrying. The odds of some angry customers picking up their pre-ordered Wiis are rising by the minute.
