This Day in Gaming, October 12th

1999: Sega announces new colors for their Dreamcast controllers, including aqua smoke, aqua pink, aqua blue, and aqua lime. Unfortunately, there is no aqua aqua...oh Sega, why do you tease me so?

2001: Eidos releases Thunderstrike: Operation Phoenix for PS2 in Europe. You finally get a game first, and you waste it on this. No, it's a good choice, really. Helicopters, go helicopters. They are useful, for...combat...when flying over in a plane at mach 2 over a target isn't safe enough. Actually, given their impracticality, maybehelicopters were invented just for videogames. And really annoying GTA levels. And don't give me the argument that they can land in small areas - I've seen True Lies.

2004: NCSoft releases Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle Collector's DVD Edition for PC in the US. The best thing about DVD editions is that they only have one disc. I wonder if we will soon see HD-DVD or Blu-ray Collector's Editions...and when those are phased out/fail, will we have Downloadable Collector's Editions? With virtual pewter figurines?
