This Day in Gaming, August 6th
1986: Nintendo releases Metroid in Japan for NES. The game broke from traditional male-dominated gender roles by revealing the hero Samus to be a woman at the end of the game. Even in 8-bit the idea is pretty hot.
1998: Capcom releases new versions of Resident Evil 1 & 2 for PS in Japan. Among other slight modifications, the games are upgraded to support the new dual shock controllers. Is a vibrating controller that big of a deal? What does everyone think?
2003: Chaos Legion is released for the PS2 by Capcom. It's a clunky hack and slash that includes the ability to summon a legion to fight by your side. Who couldn't use a legion now and then? Our legion would consist of Indians who could turn into wolves.
