Halo 3 Movie Delayed
Master Chief will not be coming to a screen near you for the next couple of years. Although it was originally supposed to come out next summer, the Halo movie is now quasi-officially confirmed as a 2008 release.
This really won't surprise anyone. The film doesn't even have a director attached yet and while our man Uwe can pump out a few hundred video game movies in a year's time, Peter Jackson will likely want to produce a film that is more ponderously executed.
As an ancillary note, am I the only one who is worried about Jackson's involvement? Back when he was doing zombie gore movies, I was a big fan, but his recent output is simpering maudlin melodrama at its worst. Hobbits jumping in slow motion on a bed for ten minutes? King Kong ice skating in Central Park, right before he climbs the Empire States Building to indulge his love of sunsets? At least he's not directing.
