XBOX Pirates Of The Caribbean Hint
Easy Ship Takeovers
Since you are at war with France, you are going to attack some French ships. But not any french ships, only those that are battling pirate ships, because any other time when you encounter french ships they attack you. But this time they will be your allies, against the pirates, so find a battle where you are totally out numbered by the pirates and quickly defeat them. Now after the battle the french ships will not attack you, they will sail on their way. Get in close to those french ships and fire your kibles at their sails, do it to each ship, but do not fire anything else or the ships will instantly attack you. Now with their sails destroyed they cannot manuver very well, when you begin your attack, you can pick them off or flee if you must. Next select the ship you want to take over, get in real close and fire the grape shot at point blank rage. You will kill off some of the crew, and will instantly board their ship for a take over. Now when you have your new ship the other french ships “if there are anymore” will attack you. But since you took out the sails, the battle will be easy, so sink them or run away to repair. You can do this with other nations, but once you do this you will be at war with them, which just adds to your problems early in the game.

I’m already stuck at the point you have to find Rheims. I enter the pirate fort with officer spots empty for the first time and I still see no one fighting. I’ve talked to everyone and find out nothing. I’ve started the game completely over 3 times and still get the same thing. Help!

Oweyn, the shop owner in Oxbay asked me to deliver al small chst to green ford i think.
When I arrive 2 pirates come to me and whant the chest, i can’t defeat them.
They take the chest and leave.

i captured greenford, took the crazy genius with me to khael roa,found the temple, but when i enter the hall with the glassy thing and a small ball on it; i cannot do anything…i cannot find an exit or a key or stuff like that..help meeeee!!!

Lighten up already. For Danielle to join, you need a ship slot free (not just an officer slot free). So clear the officers and sell a ship. In fact, generally good practice to only keep three ships.
2 pirates who steal the chest? It’s poorly done, but this is deliberate - just follow the plot and read the Quest Book. If it still works - mine glitched on me near the end and nothing gets added. Ho hum, now I have to pay attention…

Everybody - always check your quest book - as it tells you where u shud be heading - and what you shud be doing.
DESTROYING THE FORT - The fort must be destroyed with pure power and vengance. I had 4 Class 1 ships and practically lost all 4 in the process. Best method is to do it alone. Get right to the far side (as far away as possible) so that only so many guns can hit you - but you can still hit them. Simply plug away until you make your way across the lot of them. It helps to have Professioanl Ship Defense, mind. And long range volleys.
THE CHEST - you mst give up the chest to the two pirates - it’s part of the game. They cannot be killed, and the chest was only being sent as a joke. Go back to the shipyard owner and tell him you lost it.
THE TEMPLE - Once you have enetered the temple where the statue is (and the little ball) you should talk to the Scientist by default. He looks for traps. The bitch then talks to you and says she’s a greedy cow - and decides to run off and grab the ball…….”cue cut scene”. This all happens by default - so if it doesn’t, it’s knackered.
THE BEACH - someone asked for the beach…..WHICH BEACH? If it’s Kaoul Rune - then you must be at the right point in the game to have it opened for you - ie with the scientist.

There are 3 pirate locations - but I believe this particular mission is asking you to go to Concecai. There is a pirate fort located here.
The other locations are on Isle Muelle - pirate fort - and on the Kuranga Lama whatever place.

hack i got the same problem… during the rheims quest… i had four ships when i talked to danielle, she then told me that my crew was too big. i then sold one of my ships and made sure that i only had four passengers(leaving four open slots)… but when i go to see danielle again, she wont talk to me no more and if i leave to douwesen, she wont be there like shes supposed to.
is this a bug or what? do i need to start all over again… what the hell am i supposed to do? pls help… email me or somethin…

Johnni, when you get to the island and you select “sail to”, scroll to the far right. I made this mastake - there are more locations you can sail to that can actually be seen on the screen - so scroll right and select the shore. Just follow the path when on the shore - there are a few different routes, but only one takes you to Oxbay - another takes you to greenford. You’ll find it!!!

to cheat and see what the enemy ships stats are.. Just hit enter and then select go to flag.. This will allow you to see the ships icon and the bars above it… Also allows you to get better position on the enemy ship by keep going to there ship until you have the right position.

to Mr. Pirate and Dean you find Danielle by asking about her at the Greenforde Tavern. I need help, I boarded the ship to get the golden idol and then stormed the Oxbay fort but I can’t leave the island because the game thinks I’m still in battle. I assume I need to destroy the Greenforde Fort but it seems to have a thousand cannons so I can’t land troops even with God mode on.

im stuck at oxbay, when im supposed to go with the french guy who we payed his tab off for. were supposed to take his ship back to redmond and someone else takes ours. when i go to follow him to his ship at port, a guard questions me and then lets me go. after that the guards chase us to the docks where, the owner of the boat is allowed to get in , but its locked for me and the other guy and we get our ass kicked on the dock. any help is appreciated …. thanks

in the temple maze on the floor there is markings! follow them. they will lead you right. and Laro, go to the pirate fort on the island and talk to people in the tavern. Talk to the owner and ask for a job. a man will come in. Refuse to wor with him and then kill him. but be careful what he is saying. you have to know where hes ship is. when you are done, just sail to isla muelle (i think it was, if dont sail to another island) and you will find your own ship and crew. the crew saved your ship from the storm =D.

I find attacking Greenford Fort is easier when using Two Battle Ships armed with 24 LBS Cannons, attacking at close range. Fighting the soldgers it is nice to have may potions and a Melee Combat rating of 10… Trade and deliver cargo for merchants, makes money and builds your reputation fast, adds up on the skill points for combat.

Funny how people post to these groups to find out secrets. What a bunch of whiners. What ever happened to experimenting, exploring and figuring things out? I used to spend hours trying to figure out atari games (back in an ancient era that many folks do not remember…)Guess thats all been replaced with fast food and cheat codes. This game is a blast people, whats with the rush to the finish line?

this game is weak. if you have a sega genesis get “Pirates Gold”. this game looks like a remake of the old one. it is much better, than this piece of toilet paper. Easily beaten,Often boring, and buggy as hell this game leaves nothing to challenge. Only a show of Bethesda graphics, but i guess Disney rushed this one out to coinceide with their movie.

To beat Greenford Fort (i just did it), you should get three battleships, two at least. I got lucky because my other 2 battleships sailed away and I beat the fort alone. I sailed across right in front and shot the cannons. But you need a battleship to win. Its almost impossible without one.

im on that quest. ’strange goings on in the Archapelago’. i have found out the large black lvl 2 boat is called mehisto.
i went to quberdas costillias and the tavern lady said that someone was killed and to ask around but none of the pirates talk to me. ive tried lowering my reputation so i was ‘terror of high seas’ but yet they still did not talk to me. is there something i missed? all my quest book says is that someone was killed down by the shore, i looked around and nothing!

i have a big problem maby a bug(someone said it earlyier allready).
Im in the temple, the walktrough sais that i have to get op by stairs but the stairs are both broken. i can get up by standing in the light but thats the wrong site . need to be at the other site but every time i trie some stupid skeletons come and bug me and i am still at the 1st floor.
i tried allready by talking to danielle, and do the temple without saving but danielle doesnt give response no more.

i know this topic has come up more than once but im tired of trying to defeat greenford fort. every time i try the fort never weakens ( i have one of those rock crystal telescopes that tells you the strength of the fort). i have even tried to use godmode but it doesnt help.. i have 3 battle ships with the biggest cannons.. and i stay in the one spot and try and hit the cannons on the fort but either i get sunk or i have god mode on and i stay their till my ammo is all gone! please help (i have the pc version of the game)

I think I hit a bug in the “strange things in archipelago” quest…I am trying to deliver the letter to the priest on Isle Muelle and when I go near the island, I am immediately taken to a beach (which is supposed to happen according to a FAQ I read). Once I’m on the beach, I am stuck - I can’t move at all, the lock icon is locked and nothing happens. Some guys in red robes are supposed to be there for me to fight but they aren’t. I’ve tried reloading three times and starting from the beginning but this always happens - any ideas????

Easiest way to take the fort , is to make peace with english for gold at quebradas costillas port with the diplomat , and then just come as near as you can with your ship (i did it with 1 battleship) and just fire at cannons , first hit is already a critical and fort should be like on 50-60 % . Also did anyone notice , if you borrow money and come back after 1 month , first the guy tells you bla bla you how dare you come back , something like that , and you say you’re lucky to be alive , if you try to talk again with him after conversation was finished , then you can borrow money again , i noticed that so i traveled like those few islands around for like 10 times and collected like one million.

First i was happy to see a question list for this game. However i normlly like to wait until it is a bit cheaper and then play the game.
I really love it and would like to point out some tactics. Although i have my own problem with finding danielle and the “somethign strange quest”. Guess my reputation is not to good, because i should talk to a priest, but because my reputation i cannot (i got stuck).
About forts, it is just tactics guys. I use 2 ships, where one is canon fodder. Cannons work with angles, if you position your ship. Take a fast maneuvre ship and position it at the right angle you will shoot the crap out of any fort. I got bored finding the solution (finding danieela ) so went “cleaning” up! Forts , piece of cake…..
i will try to draw it:

P (here you can shoot but the guns are out of arc)
However you need some distraction to position your self here. Man the experience points just role in like that: fort gun explodes 500 exp, second gun 1000 , another 1000, another 1000.

My problem is that i don’t know how to find the man in isla meulle (the clay tablets)
I manage to free the slave and unfortunatelly died in one of my capture the pirate big ship, but tried it when he survived, still some problem.
I need to find the man, but each time i try to investigate in the tavern, i cannot ask something like (have you seen ….)
Any help is appreciated.
Also my other quest, if i am that bad, can’t i ever try to persuade the priest to help me out.
Someone told me to talk to a priest to continue the quest in redmond church to find the black frigate, but i am to bad…… How can i change my reputation, not by attacking forts thats for sure, but with an accury of 9 , guns reload of 6 en luck of 5 who can resist…. Oh off course the cool 25 damage blocking sword by saving the daughter from a pirate and the fencing ability….
Still i do like to continue my quest.
i need the XBOX solution or hint

2.)For those of you wanting to get to Khael Roa: I dont know THAT much about this albeit I do know that you can only go there 2 times a YEAR! AND you have to be at a certain point in the game. I think its after you talk to the Frechie at Falaise de Fleur about the black pearl. At Khael Roa there are TONS of skeletons and I mean like 10 per battle with a lot of battles. But the risk is not without its reward ehhh? There is a lot of treasure on this island. More than all the others combined x2! Just to throw ya in the ballpark.

For example you dont ask someone where that one city is. Because there is a whole crapload of them. You need to find out what beach for certain it is.. such as far beach… and tell me and if im on and see it i’ll reply.

WHENEVER YOU NEED HELP IN A ISLAND TRY TALKING TO THE INKEEPER. Also you mentioned wanting to remain in the same game and get your popularity up. Well simply go to a church and donate 5000 gold about 10 to 15 times. I KNOW ITS A LOT BUT YOU SAID YOU WANTED ADVICE AND IF YOUR SO GOOD THEN IMMMM SUREEEE YA GOT IT

8.)To the desperate guy saying he will break the disk if he doesnt beat the greenford fort. WELL SETTLE DOWN! DONT DO ANYTHING YOUD REGRET LIKE SHOOT SOME OLD LADY….. heheheh Anyways. Refer to No 7.) hint above then continue reading right here-> Also you might very well need to try it another ten times if need be. I know I had to and then I beat it.Once you do usually the flag on the map mode for the island will no longer resemble England AND youll be presented with A LOT of treasure. Next you need to be able to attack them when thier green instead of waiting until their red (this gets a attack or two off first) and also use manual aiming (meaning you control with a scope where to attack and use a arc to hit them rather than have the game do it for you). No it is not possible, just avoid them at sea or sink them, but there is no way you can be friends with pirates; only become horror of the high seas, but this really doesnt do anything except let yourself become available to evil quests like eliminations and such.

XBOX POTC QUESTION:
[some things may be mispelled]
i can’t find the traitor rheims who supposingly was located at the pirate’s hideout.
it started after i allowed blythe to kill artoius, i then took blythe for my crew and later let him die.
after allowing blythe to join, i went to the tavern, and spoke with the woman innkeep, nothing was stated as to rheims’ whereabouts [i have read posts that say she should have told me of rheims]. as i left the tavern i was approached by a man asking for $ in return for rheims’ whereabouts, in which I willingly paid, he said that he went to meet with smuggler leader, camilo machado, and then, i did so as well.
i proceeded to the smuggler’s lair, located in conceicoa. when i met camilo machado. he stated, “i’ll kindly ask you to leave my house this instant i’m busy.”, thus, i did so.
after the meeting went awry with machado, i located to the immediate left of the entry to the smuggler’s lair, a house called “rheims house”, with 2 guards who stated “get out, machado gave strict orders to keep everyone out of here!”
also, when facing “rheims’ house”, I went around the right corner to the right side and in the middle of the wall appeared a hotspot symbol showing the wall to be locked. i had read somewhere prior that i should wait there during the night and it would be unlocked and i could then start my search again. i did so, and it never unlocked, so i then proceeded with each section of the island searching during day, then again at night, and found nothing.
then, i thought, perhaps i needed to update the redmond governor. i met with him and he said something like i should make better use of my time, or something else entirely, it was by no means an update, like in previous missions.
i then decided to go to douweson and proceeded to do the same thing, and again i found nothing.
I then decided to travel to quesbradas costillas and do the exact same thing again, and still nothing.
i read the quest book inside the game and followed it immediatlty going to the smuggler’s lair to find rheims but he was not there and there was no trace of a lead as to where to go to persue him.
at this point i’m about to go toss every friggin island until i find something, and would rather not have to b/c of some minor thing i am constantly not picking up on or something is not in the correct order; seeing as thus far these searches have taken a little under a month.
this is frustrating to me b/c POTC is such an easy game. i don’t think it is a bug or glitch. i’m just missing something, yet i know not what.
also, i’m almost sure that after i toss the other islands i will still remain stuck & looking for this character in order to complete the main quest.
if someone could please post what they had to do to find the betrayer rheims, i would greatly appreciate it. thanx

To open the prison door, u need to follow a certain quest and it will lead back the that one, cuz it had a glitch for me, and i never got a chance to get him, so i did the quest with the red guys with daggers and it led back to him. Arenthis also in order to get out u must take over the fort at greenford, which u might or might not have already done.
And to the person above you who didnt ask for my help ill helo just this once , but next time say Help RAMBO! @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ ok? To get to quebradas costilas is really quite simple, you may get there just like any other island, just sail near it and u will see a icon that will allow you to go to the port. Although khael roa is much more hard, and complex.

to the guy who posted august 15, actually POTC is acutally one of the best roleplaying adventure games for xbox created, besides baldurs gate dark alliance 2, but anyways im straying off topic, in POTC its not ur Xbox, its the game, and ur definitely not the first to say this, it even did it to me too. Even after i stopped renting old games from coborn’s. and bought a new one, its just that they never really got allt he bugs out, i think its safe to say that al the old ones, and abou t4/10 new ones all have this same problem, i advise saving often, and if that doesnt work, borrow a good one from a friend, like i did, or even start a new game.
Symptoms include: All characters with you in the save game file. all look like black guys, even women, and the screen going ALL white, or just a picture of the sea when u fight and u can t get out of it, or do anyhtring, or boardinbg a ship, and having no allies or enemies, and no way of going to the next floor, or when u save having music repeat the same spot over and over whether it successfully saves or not. And once my guy turned all white like a ghost, and new games or saves loaded didnt chance the face i was white until i unplugged the game and loaded again.
These and more i am still witnessing to this day occur a lot, and thats just my game, also i noticed taht the most common one is just the typcal freeze of the screen with the little ball at the bottom not turning to signify its loading, and also the other is just the screen going white, and ur xbox restart

Rheims is located after u find danielle and do the england governor quests, he lives on dowswen in a little shack, he is dead by danielle, and u get stabbed by her also, so really the quest with him ends there.
